Need more info or have questions? Just drop me an email and I'll get back to you, usually within 24 hours. If I can't answer your question, I will try to refer you to a person or website that can. If you don't have a reply from me within 24 hours, check your spam folder. Some email servers filter more aggressively than others.

If you'd like to sign up for Peabody testing in the coming year, please include the following info in your message:

The month you'd like to test (that's completely up to you, at least in Minnesota, though I have some months that have filled up)

The name (as you would like it printed on their scoring report) and current grade level for each child old enough for testing (in Minnesota that's each child who is 7 or older on Oct 1 of your school year)

Who referred you to me for testing (I like to send a thankyou for the referral).

Where you are located- I'm in Minnesota, but can test for families anywhere in the world. We just need to work around time zone differences.

If you're looking to test soon, I'll reply with some dates and times that are available. If you're looking for future testing, I'll reply confirming that you've been added to my testing roster for the month you chose. Then you'll get an email from me as that month approaches and we'll pick a date and time.

I test most weekdays and some Saturdays. If you have more than one child testing, they will test during the same appt, one after the other.

New to Homeschooling or looking for some coaching on new ideas?

We can set up a coaching sessions to talk about options specifically fitting your family situation.  Coaching sessions can be 30 or 60 minute, by phone or video conference. There are a lot of options out there. I can help you choose your path and answer your questions. $25 for 30 min or $45 for an hour.

Who am I?

Firstly, I'm a homeschooling mom of 2 now grown sons. We decided on homeschooling when my oldest was just 3 yrs old, and thought we'd see how it went. Quite honestly, we never looked back. It wasn't always a walk in the park. We had friends and relatives who thought we were nuts. We struggled with the financial ups and downs  that come with making this a lifestyle choice. But my degree in Psychology and a fascination with watching them grasp concepts and follow their passions just melded into a completely satisfying way to raise and educate children. And I became convinced that textbooks were about the worst way to learn anything -- but especially if your child is a non-traditional learner (by personality or learning style).

Secondly, I've been a Peabody tester and Homeschool Coach since Jan 2001. I test for homeschoolers in 16 states and 3 other countries and have presented workshops to homeschool parent groups and at statewide conferences encouraging parents to choose their own path. My testing service is part testing, part mentorship/coaching time. This website is meant to offer options for families in a browse-friendly format, available when you need ideas because the current path has hit a roadblock.

If your group is interested in a workshop topic, let me know. We can do them live or over a video conference platform. These topics can also be discussed one on one in a coaching session.

The topics I cover are:

Homeschooling and Taxes: get the credit your deserve (for Mn homeschoolers)

Creative Curriculum: the grade school years

Creative Curriculum for teens

Portfolios: recordkeeping for all ages

What about preschool/kindergarten

Getting Started: what you need to know/ Exploring Homeschooling

Helping Children Who Struggle (Reading, Spelling, and Math)

Understanding Standardized Testing and your options

I'm also happy to host a general Homeschooling Q&A session that can hit on any of these topics and works well for a group that includes newer homeschoolers as well as families with children across the grade levels. For groups- Just email me to set up a session for your group.
